Initial Consultation
I offer 30 min free initial consultation which you can book through my web-site or text/call me at 424 255 0160 . Free consultation is not a therapy session. It is designed to provide you with information about my services, areas of expertise, education, and clinical experience. During our thirty minutes consultation, I will ask about your concerns and matters that you are seeking support for. We will establish whether I am a good fit for you and my areas of expertise match your concerns.
Free Consultation is also a good place to ask any question you might have about : services I provide, my theoretical orientation (how I work and organize my treatment), insurance, fees, superbill, and any other questions you might have about financial, clinical, and any other aspect of therapy. Remember that your psychotherapy is an investment in your future and it is very important to find a therapist who is an expert in their field but also is a good personality fit for you. Someone you feel comfortable with and safe.
First Session
If you decide to work with me after our initial consultation, you will receive intake paperwork and information about my practice via email. All my paperwork is paperless and requires only digital signatures. It is very important to complete your paperwork prior to our first session
During our first session, we usually start with making sure you feel comfortable, cared for and safe. The goal is to get to know you for the unique person you are. I ask about developmental history, gather background information, medical history and work on establishing rapport and connection. We will discuss your concerns, symptoms, and reasons for distress. We will also discuss your strengths and your support system. Together we will work on establishing and clarifying your goals in therapy. Setting realistic, achievable, time-bound treatments goals is very important because it will help you track your progress and feel a sense of accomplishment.
After the initial appointment, we usually meet once a week for the duration of our treatment and possibly every other week for maintenance until you reach your treatment goals.
